Sona MedSpa Announces New Stretch Mark and Scar Therapy

Charlotte, August 15, 2008: Sona MedSpa, the nation’s leader in laser hair removal and medical aesthetics, is proud to announce their latest product line using advanced laser technology. This product line targets scar and stretch marks in order to reduce and eliminate coloration and texture issues. The use of this advanced technology for stretch marks was portrayed as the most viable stretch mark and scar solution recently in O Magazine’s Beauty column.

Scars are created by tissue healing after an injury or surgery. Stretch marks are very similar to scars but they typically occur after rapid weight loss or gain, pregnancy or rapid growth spurts. Virtually any area can be treated. Some of the most popular areas include: abdomen, thighs, buttocks, back of knew, upper arms, lower back, breasts and flanks.

Sona reduces and eliminates scars stretch marks through a series of customized treatments that uses Advanced Fluorescence Technology to reduce the red color of early stretch marks, or scars, in combination with Pixel treatments that promote an increase in the amount of collagen and elastin fibers while working to improve skins texture. Peels and microderms are also used during the process to improve skin texture firmness and color.

Results can be seen after a single session, but the most significant improvements occur between 3-5 treatments.

Advanced Fluorescence Technology is the next generation of IPL or Intense Pulse Light technology. This laser has multiple hand pieces, with varying wave lengths to address many different types of pigmentation and coloration concerns. It works by applying a series of gentle pulses over the intended treatment area, without damaging the outer layer of skin. Instead the light penetrates through the skin and is absorbed by the blood vessel or pigmentation. This absorption creates heat, which impairs the lesion, and allows the body to begin the natural healing process. The lesion then darkens before it flakes off or is absorbed completely by the body.
Pixel, or Pixel 2940 Er:YAG, is an FDA approved fractionalized resurfacing laser. It works by passing a laser beam through its patented micro optics lens penetrating the skin in a tiny hatch like pattern. Therefore, treating only 20% of the skin at a time while leaving the rest of the tissue intact minimizing down time.
