LipoTherapy
What is it? And tips on how to keep your new LipoTherapy body...
What Is LipoTherapy?
For many years a technique called lipo-therapy has been used in France as a treatment technique for the reduction of cellulite and areas of stubborn fat deposits. Based on this highly successful procedure, Sōna MedSpa now offers LipoTherapy.
LipoTherapy consists of a series of injections into the subcutaneous fat layer (just below the skin) of a fat emulsifying substance found naturally in your body called Phosphatidylcholine and Sodium Deoxycholate. This breaks down (emulsifies) the fat in those “problem areas” around the waist (abdomen), the “love-handles”, hips (“saddle-bags”), inner thighs, buttocks, and underside of the chin. After the fat cells are emulsified they are processed and metabolized by the body via the lymphatic and vascular systems of the liver.
There is an anesthetic mixed with the active ingredients of the injection to attenuate some of the post-procedure discomfort of slight soreness. The procedural discomfort, if any is associated with the sensation of tiny needle pokes but not all of the injections are felt so the procedure itself usually doesn’t require the use of topical anesthetics.
LipoTherapy shows the best results in people who are healthy and conscientious about their diet and exercise habits.
Clients can expect to see a gradual and smooth reduction in the fat over a series of treatment sessions spaced at least two (2) weeks apart. The number of treatments can vary from 4-10 per area however, significant results are commonly seen after three (3) treatments.
There can be some minor side effects including temporary redness, swelling, itching, bruising, and soreness at the treatment site. Occasionally temporary fatigue, menstrual change and/or bowel habit change may occur but this is brief in nature.
Although some have concerns about the fact that the fat just seems to mysteriously disappear, LipoTherapy has proven to be a very safe and highly effective treatment. There are no known risks to the heart apart from normal metabolism of fat in your body. When a person eats a meal containing fat, it is absorbed via the gastrointestinal system into the vascular system (blood) which distributes the fat to various organs/systems in the body for use as fuel or for storage in the fat cells.
How to keep your LipoTherapy Body...
LipoTherapy is a lipo-therapy treatment technique for the reduction of cellulite and areas of stubborn fight deposits.
An amazing transformation occurs and to maintain such results a focus on other aspects of our day to day lives is important.
Dr. Kathleen Hall, internationally recognized stress and lifestyle expert, and founder and C.E.O of The Stress Institute has created the acronym S.E.L.F care to explain the four roots of happiness, health and balance.
“S is for Serenity. Find your own sources of calm and use them regularly. Dr. Hall suggests diaphragmatic breathing as one way to find your source of calm. This technique is used as breathing in while expanding your diaphragm, or pushing out your stomach. When you exhale your diaphragm flattens. This allows your lungs to completely inflate and use the oxygen to your bodies fullest potential.
E is for Exercise. People who exercise three times a week reduce their risk of Alzheimer's and dementia by a third. Regular walking 20 minutes a day reduces your risk of death from all diseases by a third. Additionally, regular exercise helps you stay slim and trim with your new LipoTherapy body.
L is for Love. Discovering new ways to share your life with others preserves your mind, body and soul.
F is for Food. Food is medicine and food changes your mood.”
Dr. Hall suggests key foods to keep your body in balance and youthful:
• Protein in the morning
• Blueberries every day – they are the food of youthfulness
• Green tea -– a natural metabolic stimulate
A healthy diet and regular exercise, combined with these roots of happiness, can create the balance you need to maintain your lipo-therapy body.
