What is Right For You?

Botox -vs- Restylane

There are many anti-aging options available these days. But, what is right for you?

A non-surgical cosmetic procedure could be the answer. Such procedures provide a more youthful looking appearance, quicker recovery times, lower costs, and a more natural result.

The following chart highlights two non-surgical ways to fight aging and help you decide what product to use to get your best results.

BOTOX®

RESTYLANE®

         PRE-TREATMENT

One week prior to treatment, avoid using aspirin, non-steroid anti-inflammatory medicines, St. John's Wort, or high doses of Vitamin E supplements, because they may increase bruising or bleeding at the site of your injections. In addition,

do not consume alcohol leading up to and after your treatment because alcohol can affect the circulation and blood flow in your body, which could impact the effectiveness of your treatment.

No pretesting is required; however there are precautions to be aware of prior to treatment. For instance, avoid using St. John’s Wort, high doses of Vitamin E supplements, aspirin, and other non-steroidal anti-flammatory medications, such as ibuprofen, because these may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site.

SIDE EFFECTS

Temporary bruising is the most common side effect. Headaches, which resolve in 24-48 hours, can occur, but this is rare. This development is usually caused by migration of the BOTOX Cosmetic and for this reason you should not rub the treated area for

12 hours after treatment, nor should you lie down for three to four hours post treatment.

Potential redness or swelling may occur and normally lasts less than seven days. Sunbathing and cold outdoor activities should be avoided until any redness or swelling disappears.
