LipoDissolve is a non surgical, no-downtime procedure which helps dissolve fat from targeted areas of the body. The procedure has been around for at least 3 decades and was developed in Europe. Europeans and South Americans have long reaped the benefits of this “fat melter”. The technique has been modified as new and improved research methods have surfaced. LipoDissolve was introduced in North America by the American Society of Aesthetic LipoDissolve about 3-4 years ago. It basically involves a series of small injections of natural substances including phoshatidylcholine [PC], an essential molecule in our cell membranes, and deoxycholate [DC], a natural digestive enzyme, along with a specialized Sōna formulation of fat burners, skin tighteners and metabolism boosters – all designed to work together to destroy localized fat deposits and remove them from the body
What are the differences between LipoDissolve and Liposuction?
| LipoDissolve | Conventional Liposuction |
|
|
| Minimal discomfort, swelling, and bruising. Very minimal, pinpoint bleeding. | Considerable bruising. Risk of internal and/or excessive bleeding. |
| No down time. Rapid return (same day, or at the very worst, next day) to work and normal activities. | Procedure results in down time, requiring time off work. Recovery time is usually weeks. |
| Minimal discomfort during and after procedure. A numbing gel can be applied prior to treatment to further minimize minor discomfort of micro-injections. | Significant discomfort. Prescription narcotics typically required after procedure to control pain. |
| Tiny puncture points. No stitches or scarring. Bruising is likely, but disappears in less than a week. | Larger puncture points. Procedure requires stitches. Likely to cause scarring and have been known to cause permanent “divots” in the skin. |
| No hospital or overnight stay. Procedure typically completed in less than an hour. Can return to work. | Hospital admission. |
| Removes fat evenly, with very low risk of dimpling, leaving skin smooth and rejuvenated. Some necessary fat cells are left in each area so if excessive weight is gained back it distributes evenly. |
Removal of fat may leave area uneven, cause dimples or even bulges. In the event that this happens, additional treatments may be required to reduce the dimpling effect All fat cells removed from the area so if excessive weight is gained the fat will deposit in an area not treated resulting in a disproportionate figure. |
| Extremely effective for reduction of localized fat and cellulite. | Not intended for the reduction of cellulite. |
| Tightens and strengthens skin. | Causes loose and weak skin that may require additional treatment afterwards. |
| Substantially lower cost. No anesthetic and no facility fees. Fees for the procedure are also notable less than for Liposuction | Much more expensive procedure. As with most plastic surgery, liposuction cost comprises three fees: surgeon fees, anesthesia fees, and facility fees. The anesthesia fees range from approximately $500 to $1,000, depending on the number of areas treated. The facility fees also vary depending on the number of areas where liposuction is performed, ranging from $600 to $1,200. The rest of the cost is the surgeon's fee. |
Is LipoDissolve the right treatment for me?
LipoDissolve is very effective for removing localized areas of stubborn fat on the outside of our bodies. LipoDissolve is not a general weight-loss treatment, nor a treatment for obesity. This is important, as it also implies that it is not “fast-food-proof” – (I guess this holds true of any “standard” diet or general weight loss treatment as well!) once you completed your treatments, you need to watch your weight, as your localized fat will return if you pick up weight. It is not suitable for patients with liver dysfunction, kidney disease, immune problems, uncontrolled diabetes, and certain other active disorders.
